Quality Assurance Analyst II
Job Description
The Quality Assurance Analyst II is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through testing, analysis, and collaboration with the development team. This role involves creating and executing test plans, identifying defects, and ensuring that products meet established quality standards. The Analyst will work on our new SaaS product while also testing our legacy software suite. This role reports to the QA Manager within the Engineering department.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and design documents.
- Perform manual and automated testing of software applications to identify defects and ensure functionality.
- Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools.
- Verify and add additional details to reported issues.
- Work closely with developers to facilitate timely resolution of identified issues.
- Design and implement automated test scripts to enhance testing efficiency.
- Maintain and update existing automated tests to accommodate changes in the software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and support to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of test plans, test cases, and testing results.
- Develop and maintain test environments and test data.
- Create user guides and release notes as needed.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of manual software testing experience
- Proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaborative mindset
Preferred Skills
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Experience with performance testing and load testing tools.
- Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
- Accounting domain knowledge or experience testing accounting packages such as AccountMate, QuickBooks, or Sage products
Salary/Wage/Classification
- Salary: 75k – 100k
- Exempt position
