Optimizing route processes through Prism
Once you’ve geocoded your addresses, there are many functions that you can use through Prism Mapping with Bing to optimize your routing processes and plan your stops for the day.
1. View all driver routes as pushpins on a map
After you’ve setup each of your drivers with a unique pushpin, you’ll be able to view them on both the Dispatch board and the Map .
Step 1: Select “All Drivers” on Driver List in left menu on Dispatch board. On this list you can also view all driver pushpins
Step 2: Click Map Optimization
Step 3: Click Refresh/All to give you visibility of all the routes on the map
2. Changing driver route when looking at all drivers on a map
You may notice that a stop is very close to another route, and that it would be more efficient to switch it to another driver’s route. This can be easily accomplished with Prism Mapping.
Method 1 -
Step 1: Click on the stop you wish to change to a different route, and double-click on it in the Tickets grid at the bottom of the Map Optimization tab
Step 2: Change the Driver # assigned to that stop, and click Save
Step 3: Refresh the grid, and that stop will now be assigned to a new driver route
Method 2 –
Step 1: Select the Driver # box for the stop that you wish to transfer, and click the drop-down arrow
Step 2: Click the new driver
Step 3: Click Save
