Tips on creating a new customer in ServQuest
1. To create a new customer, click the Maintenance drop down in ServQuest then select the "Customer Maintenance" form
2. Indicate a Customer#: this can be uniquely created or assigned from a sequence by the SQ App
Unique Customer ID: Customer numbers are alpha-numeric, you can create one by
(1) Typing in a value (2) clicking the magnifying glass (3) then clicking "Add"
Auto-Numbering: For system-generated customer numbers, click the blue plus sign (+) and the next available customer number in the sequence will be used
3. Fill out the Customer Information - company name, address information, contact info
4. Create a Ship-To addresses: Type a name for the address# (SHIP1, 123JAVITS, etc.), then click the Blue Ship-To Link to open the Address Maintenance form
Type in the value and click the blue link, do NOT click the magnifying glass
Do NOT click the Blue Ship To link until a name has been typed in.
If the field is blank, it will load an empty form. Close the empty form and try again
5. Address Maintenance - after clicking the blue ship to link from the Customer form, the Address form will now open and automatically fill in the information you typed. Change applicable info if Shipping is different from Billing (address form different from customer form)
6. Address Maintenance - Indicate a Sales Tax code, then save and close
Sales Tax is calculated at the shipping location, therefore all addresses must have a tax code assigned. If no tax, you may assign a Resale# on this Address form if applicable
7. Update Miscellaneous info if applicable
Settings Tab | Paycode | Net30, COD, CC-DAILY, etc. |
Settings Tab | Profile Setup | Credit Card Information |
Pricing Tab | Group Pricing | Customer Specific Pricing |
Email Tab | Campaigns | Auto emailing features |
8. Final Step: Click Save button on top left of Customer Maintenance Form
If you are in the Customers Smart Grid, click "Refresh" or search for the new customer
